"Twilight on Cape Fear" takes place in Wilmington, NC in 1975 & 1976. This is the story of Jackson Walker, a Korean War veteran and his wife Evelyn who love each other deeply and share a common purpose of helping homeless veterans get back on their feet. Jackson and Evelyn's life together ends abruptly with his murder on the Cape Fear River. But secrets are revealed when his love and devotion to Evelyn lives beyond the grave when he returns to her to reveal who killed him. As Charlie states "When a spirits delayed, there's a reason it stayed"

Judge Marcus Abernathy: Korean War veteran, husband of Judy (Age 50-60)

Judy Abernathy: Kind woman with a good sense of humor, wife of Marcus (Age 45-55)

Reggie Martin: Foreman at Walker Construction, fiancé of Jeanette (Age 35-40)

Charlie Oliver:Korean War vet with a devastating past (Age 45-50) 

Wally: African American Vietnam veteran. Tormented by war but a true hero. (Age 25-35)

Tony: Frustrated Vietnam veteran (Age 25-35)

Stan: Frustrated Vietnam veteran (Age 25-35)

Burt: Alcoholic Vietnam veteran. (Age 25-35)

Bishop Fraser:Lutheran minister (Age 50-60) 

Bonnie Fraser: The bishop’s pretty wife (Age 50-60)

Florence Schumer:Gossiping, social climber (Age 40-50)

Margaret Benson: Arrogant town gossip (Age 40-50)

Ruby Anderson: B&B Innkeeper and wife to Wayne (Age 35-45)

Wayne Anderson: B&B Innkeeper, husband of Ruby (Age 35-45)


NOTE: Wally is African American. Charlie, Tony, Stan & Bert can be any race. The rest of the cast should be Caucasian reflecting the racial inequalities of the 1970’s.

Seeking performers ages 14 and upSeeking very strong, athletic dancers/singers to play high school studentsAlso seeking adults who are strong singers/actors to play various adult roles

Please prepare 32 bars of a pop or contemporary musical theater song that shows off vocal range and technical ability. We will not allow songs to be performed a cappella so please bring sheet music in your key or an instrumental CD (without background vocals). An accompanist will be provided.

If you are auditioning for a specific role, please be familiar with the songs from the show (Footloose - Original Broadway Cast), as you may be asked to sing a selection at auditions. Also,.Everyone auditioning for roles should be prepare for a dance audition as well. This is a Workshop show.
